TYR Technologies was founded by people who spent years inside large IT providers and came away convinced there was a better way to do it.
Our Origin
TYR Technologies started in 2015, built upon the experience of our founder, who had spent over fifteen years inside large MSPs, doing the work and leading the teams that did it.
Over that time, he kept seeing the same pattern. A provider starts out responsive, flexible, and genuinely invested in its clients. Then it grows. Processes become standardized. Services get packaged into fixed tiers. Support moves into tickets and queues. And somewhere along the way, the client stops talking to the person who knows their systems and starts talking to whoever happens to be next in the rotation.
TYR was built to avoid that trade-off. Not by resisting growth, but by refusing to let growth come at the expense of what made the service good in the first place: having someone who knows your environment, understands your business, and picks up when you call.

Most IT providers sell packages. You pick a tier, and your systems get shaped to fit whatever that tier includes. We prefer to start with you. We take the time to learn how your business works, then figure out what it needs.
In practice, that means being straight with you about what needs attention and what can wait. It also means a monthly agreement rather than a long-term one, so the relationship carries on because it's working, not because it's signed.

Lyndon Will, President & Founder
Growing up on a farm outside Edmonton, I learned the value of hard work, resourcefulness, and solving problems with the tools available. That natural love of tackling complex challenges eventually led me to a career in information technology.
After working in senior technical and leadership roles with larger IT providers, I founded TYR Technologies in 2015 to create a more personal and accountable approach to managed IT. My vision was to build a local technology company where clients know the people supporting them and receive solutions designed around their business.
Today, I am most proud of seeing TYR’s employees find fulfillment and purpose in their work while delivering the best possible service to clients. My goal is to continue leading the company with a focus on relationships, accountability, and a constant drive for excellence.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing golf.
Our Expertise
Our team believes in ongoing training, obtaining certifications across security, cloud, and infrastructure, giving us broad expertise across the areas our clients rely on most. We’ve built that depth intentionally, so our team can handle a wide range of needs in-house without having to bring in outside support.
